ASU Grabs National Merit Scholars
Three years ago when I was making my decision to goto ASU I had more or less written off the namesake value of the degree that I would earn. Compared to the Stanford’s and USC’s, I still have, but with the growth that ASU has been claiming over the last couple of years, I don’t feel all that bad.
According to ASU.edu, National Merit Scholars are coming to ASU in fairly substantial numbers. Sure, they only make up a tiny fraction of the student body, but if the numbers in the article are accurate, one could almost deduce that ASU is at least on its way to becoming a top tier, or “top of mind” public school.
Not too shabby.

Comments Censored - Sorry
Times they are a changin. The Crew Blog is up, and slowly but surely the wheels are starting to turn. Unfortunately this time, with the good comes a little bit of the bad. As noted before, I’m taking my $9/year GoDaddy.com domain and holding it high with my almighty editing powers. The main blog here on MahiX2 will be the home of the Inefficiency Critic. As such, I’m going to be that guy and hereby put into effect a comment guideline system. Please believe, the Crew Blog is your home for shannanigans and debauchery and will remain 100% the home of the free (I’ll keep payin the $9/yr).
So, keep the comments here on the Inefficiency Critic clean, on topic, and to the point. Personal attacks and far strays from the topic at hand will be deleted. Let me clarify, no comment will be edited, if it is deemed by my pervading powers to be off topic or off taste it will be deleted.
For a point by point breakdown of the guidelines, read on.

I’m a Novice Inefficiency Critic
Today I really started researching where I stand especially in regards to being a student pursuing a Supply Chain Management degree and a critic of inefficiency.
I’m just a punk kid.
But I’d like to think that today I took a step in the right direction. I joined ISM or Institute for Supply Management. Alpha Kappa Psi helped me grow professionally, but now it is my hope that ISM will help me grow and network with respect to supply chain management, efficiency management, logistics, etc. Further, my dad hooked me up with a contact that he knows, Arnold Maltz. Mr. Maltz happens to be an SCM Associate Professor at ASU (link), and also happens to be the Education Chair for the Arizona Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Roundtable. As such, I jumped at the opportunity to get in on the student membership of CSCMP.

Jeep Hurricane
Last week at the North American International Auto Show Jeep unveiled a concept “Hurricane”. At first, based on its TWO V8 Hemi engines I thought this would be a model of inefficiency.
Then I learned that it could turn on a zero degree radius.
Then I read that depending on the driver’s preference, the Jeep can be set to run on 4, 8, 12, or 16 cylinders. WHOA!
Then, the clincher. It comes standard with 37″ tires.
